There are many terms turns into the wedding industry designed to both relieve pain and add to the excitement with which we make with our money. 'Tailored ',' Couture made 'and' Designer dress' are three of the most common.
Most of us probably have a fairly good idea of what they mean but take a look at what they do not mean will help us reach a more precise definition.
There are not many bridal shops that do not use the term 'designer' somewhere in the description of the dress they are presenting to us. All the things we use in this life has a designer. Even a paper coffee cup had to be designed by anyone. Try to convince the average buyer that the paper cup is a 'designer' cup worth ten times more than an ordinary paper cup and you can have some problems.
But actually that is exactly what happens in many of the 'designer' labels we see in our high streets as well as designer wedding dresses we first talked about. Mass-produced made dresses (and often designed) in the Far East are being presented to us in this way. I do not know about you, but this to me, seems to weaken the whole 'designer dress' ethos. Why pay more if it is nothing but a mass-produced clone?
So what makes a true 'designer dress'?
Firstly, there must be an exclusive part of the design. Although high prices is in itself a way to make a dress more exclusive, but there must be more to it than that.
What about the dresses that grace Hollywood red carpets and the latest catwalk shows? What makes them a designer dress?
The answer is individuality. Most of these dresses have been designed by a designer, and then by a small elite team of seamstresses working for movie star or model actual measurements.
This is often a â € ~ bespokeâ € ™ dress in the true sense of the word, ie a â € ~ a Offa € ™ garment made for the individual.
The word â € ~ coutureâ € ™ has in recent years come to mean a garment that is made to an accepted high standard by a skilled designer and sewing team. Initial term can be used only in certain regions of France. Even in days called â € ™ Haute Coutureâ € ™ can be used only when referring to ten current fashion houses based in Paris and three other correspondents fashion houses.
